For the first time you will need to bring your ID and recent proof of address such as a current bill in your name. The next time you come (if it is within 3 months of the first time you came to NERA for help) you will just need your ID. We also encourage you to list a Proxy (a person willing to come and shop for you that you approve of). 2 Forms will be supplied at the intake desk. Click "Preview Forms" below to review these forms or fill them out in advance.
If you need groceries right now and do not have the documents needed or if you are without a home, bring your ID and you will receive an emergency bag (one day’s worth of groceries).
IMPORTANT: These are general rules and for more details the intake personnel will explain. If you are legally-married, your spouse does not need to bring a separate current bill.
We help with an average of 18 days-worth of food and you can come and shop every 30 days. One member of each qualifying household will shop in the grocery center alongside a volunteer. Volunteers will also help clients load groceries in their vehicles. Transportation is not currently offered.

If we can't help, we likely know someone who can. We will take the time to assess your needs and future goals, and then look for ways to either help directly, or to refer you to a local church, charitable organization, or government agency that can better assist.
