Fundraiser SPONSORS help NERA volunteers pay for the fundraiser supplies. Because of these generous companies and individuals like you, all donations affiliated with this project will be used to provide food to our neighbors in North Central Oklahoma. While donors who give to the fundraiser will receive gourmet caramel apples, sponsors do not receive any offerings in return. The support of sponsorships lead to successful fundraisers.

For each $14 donation, you will be gifted a gourmet caramel apple! The Apples will be presented to donors before Valentine's Day. Requests will be accepted after January 5th. Only 800 apples will be available, and they go fast!
Nothing is sweeter than a Valentine's gift that provides more than 60 meals to locals in need. When donors give in quantities of $14, a group of NERA's volunteers (the "Apple Ladies") provide a hand-dipped caramel apple to the donor as a "thank you." To request apples after the morning of January 6th, use the donation or "request apples" links at NERAok.org. You may choose to pay by check; just remember to specify that your donation is for the "Caramel Apple Fundraiser." Apples will be available to pick up at NERA (112 S. 1st Street in Ponca City) on February 12th, the Thursday before Valentine's day, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The New Emergency Resource Agency (NERA) is a nonprofit organization that feeds thousands of housed and unhoused neighbors around Kay County. NERA's programs are important in Oklahoma because 1 out of every 7 adults and 1 out of every 4 children are experiencing food scarcity. When a neighbor makes just one visit to the NERA Food and Resource Center, they will typically leave with enough groceries to feed their household for at least 14 days.
NERA's service area is the 11 ZIP codes most closely surrounding Ponca City. This nonprofit organization distributes 20,000 to 40,000 lbs. of food through their grocery center every week. In 2024, over 1.2 million meals were offered to locals. The small staff of resource experts depends on dozens of volunteers and sponsors like you to make this possible.

HOW DOES A $14 DONATION SUPPLY 60 MEALS? Our affiliation with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma allows us to order 20,000 to 30,000 lbs. of food every week for an average of $700. This inexpensive order combined with 5,000 to 10,000 lbs. of donations from local grocery stores allow us to send each client home with enough food to feed their family for 2 weeks or longer. If each individual eats 3 meals a day - that's 42 meals offered per individual. Your $14 gift more than covers the cost of one person's visit to NERA.
